What this calculator does
The Packaged Contents calculator determines the wine gallons and proof gallons contained in a packaged lot of bottled spirits. How to use it
Enter the number of bottles, the bottle size in milliliters or liters, and the proof of the spirits. The calculator returns the total wine gallons and proof gallons for the packaged lot. Use the true proof of the spirits as determined by approved gauging methods.
Calculation notes
The calculation converts bottle size to wine gallons using standard conversion factors, then multiplies by proof to obtain proof gallons. For reporting purposes, use the actual filled volume of each bottle, not the nominal bottle size, when there is a meaningful difference. Always verify packaged contents against TTB reporting requirements and maintain required records.
