Spirit Blending Calculator
What this calculator does
The Spirit Blending calculator combines two spirits of different proofs to determine the final proof and volume of the blend. Enter the volume and proof of each spirit, and the calculator returns the total volume, total proof gallons, and the resulting proof of the blended spirit. This is useful for blending barrels, combining batches, or adjusting proof before bottling.
How to use it
Enter the volume and proof of the first spirit, then the volume and proof of the second spirit. The calculator computes the combined proof gallons, total volume, and final blended proof. All proofs should be true proof values (corrected for temperature) for accurate results.
Calculation notes
The blending calculation is based on the conservation of proof gallons: the sum of proof gallons in each component equals the proof gallons in the final blend. The final proof is the total proof gallons divided by the total volume. This calculation assumes complete miscibility and no volume change on mixing. Actual blending results may vary slightly due to contraction effects when spirits of different proofs are combined.
